Two tusks recovered from a man

Jalpaiguri, Oct 16: Two elephant tusks were recovered from an imam of a local mosque, by forest department personnel at Chuniajhora tea garden area of West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district.
Anwar Ansari was arrested yesterday, the last day of the wildlife week, an oppurtunity he had used to procure the tusks, forest department sources said.
Buying or selling of elephant tusks is banned in the country.
The man was arrested following a tip-off and the forest officials are now probing whether he was connected to any interstate gang involved in the illegal trade of trafficking animal body parts.
