Elephants trample father & daughter to death

PARALAKHEMUNDI, MAy 6: A herd of 11 wild elephants created panic in Kasinagar block when they attacked a house at Badiganguda village in Khandava panchayat and killed one Appudu Sabara and his daughter Champa Sabara, while his wife Mrs Arulu Sabara and two other children Santosh and Arjini managed to escape and fled from the scene .
According to the eyewitness who this reporter spoke to, the tuskers entered had the village which was on the edge of forest yesterday. The family of the victim was staying in a hut adjacent to a small cashew plantation belonging to them. Suddenly the elephants barged into the hut and father and daughter were trampled to death on the spot, while the wife, who had also been caught by one pachyderm, managed to escape miraculously. She carried her two young children and rushed to the village .
