Elephant's body found near Indo-Bhutan border

JALPAIGURI (WB): An elephant was found dead in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district near the Indo-Bhutan border on Tuesday, Forest officials said.

The jumbo's body was found by workers of Makrapara tea estate who immediately informed the Forest department, Divisional Forest Officer Jalpaiguri, Kalyan Das told PTI.

Local Forest officials rushed to the spot, Das said, adding the body bore no external injury mark. The cause of death will be known after post-mortem, he said.

Some weeks back, another elephant was found dead in Bandapani tea estate of the district.
