Three arrested for killing wild elephant

PALAKKAD: Three people have been arrested in Kerala on charges of killing a wild elephant which intruded into a private plantation and got electrocuted.

Kerala forest department officials said on Friday that the men had laid electric wires at the plantation at Dhoni, 15 km from here, to trap small animals.

The 10-year-old tusker was found dead at the plantation on Tuesday. The arrested men were identified as George, 58, his son Biju, 27, and Vinod, 38, all employees at the plantation
