Elephant runs amok
An elephant ran amok at world famous Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple here on the last day of the 10-day Painkuni festival on Sunday evening.
The elephant, brought to the 'Aarat' procession, ran amok when it heard the sound of a firecracker. Seven elephants were brought to the temple for the procession as part of the Painkuni festival which culminated after the ritualistic holy bath of the deity at the Aarat Mandapam near Shanghumughom beach.
However, Elephant squad brought the elephant into control after an hour. However, no one was injured in the incident.
