Bareilly Herd of 40 elephants seen heading out of Amangarh forest as water holes go dry
BIJNOR: Man-animal conflict looms in Bijnor as water holes in Amangarh have gone dry. Forest officials said that due to scorching heat, water levels in the holes here have gone down and that efforts are being made to maintain the water level by means of motor pumps.Divisional forest officer M Semmaran said, "Water level in water holes has declined. Out of the 12 water holes here, six have gone dry due to which tigers and elephants have started moving towards human inhabited areas. I have seen around 40 elephants on Thursday inside this dam where they were in the water. Nearly 40 elephants have been spotted near Peeli Dam after they moved out of forests in Amangarh range.
