Elephant Kills 55-Yr-Old Man In Cuttack
Cuttack: A 55-year-old man was attacked and killed by a wild tusker at Narasinghpur block here on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Binod Barada, a resident of Khairipanga village in Baramba block.
According to sources, the incident occurred when Binod along with two of his friends went to Taila village early in the morning to pluck cashew from a garden. The trio came across the tusker which had sneaked into the garden. Irate over the rising incidents of elephant attacks, locals detained officials of the forest department after they reached to the spot to take stock of the situation. The villagers demanded compensation for the deceased’s family.
