Farmer trampled to death by elephant

Madurai: A 60-year-old farmer from Salai Street at Thevaram in Theni district was trampled to death by an elephant on Monday night, while he was sleeping in his field.
The deceased, identified as R Sekar, 60, went to water his crop on Monday evening and slept in the same field. A stray elephant which came there attacked Sekar at midnight. tnn
