Dharmapuri (TN), May 11: An eight-month-old elephant calf was found dead in the Cauvery near Biligundalu forests in Karnataka today, forest department sources said.
It seemed that the calf had drowned in the river three days back, as the body was in a decomposed state.
Following the stench, Karnataka forest officials rushed to the spot. The reason for the death was yet to be ascertained, sources said. (Agencies)
