Ailing elephant treated, returns to forest



A 55-year-old female wild elephant that was found ailing in a private land near Narasipuram here on Sunday returned to forest on Monday following treatment given by the Forest Department.

According to officials, the elephant fell sick due to the presence of intestinal parasite and diarrhoea. The elephant was found lying on a land belonging to S.

Kannappan of Narasipuram at about 3 p.m. The elephant was checked by a government veterinarian from Narasipuram around 4.30 p.m.
