Woman killed by wild elephants in Latehar
A woman was trampled to death by a group of wild elephants in Dhamdhamia forest located under Garu Police Station area of this district.
The deceased has been identified as Radhika Devi (55). The husband of the deceased said yesterday his wife had gone to graze the cattle in the forest but failed to return. Today when they conducted a search in the forest her body was recovered.
Later the villagers informed the police. Her body was sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. A team of the forest department later handed over Rs 25,000 as immediate compensation to the family.
